Rainbow Emotions

Sometimes, a prompt diverts me from my routine…

Like today’s Daily Post on WordPress.

Some places, for personal reasons, explode with colors.

Like a rainbow, emotions span a continuous spectrum of colors.

The geraniums bleed in the window boxes.

The early morning sun is a scratch on the horizon.

The street smells of freshly baked golden croissants.

Moss is creeping at the feet of the fountain.

Under the clear, cloudless sky, the Seine unfurls its satiny ribbon.

At the Marché d’Aligre scarves the color of the Mediterranean Sea billow under the soft breeze.

At the café terrace, a boy and a girl, a bouquet of violets between their blooming love.

Although the true color of Paris is gray,

My heart is a rainbow when I am home.

For a brief moment I was on a stroll through Rue Monge. I was lucky to have spent a month in Paris last year. I miss it, even more so now. Thank you for a lovely stroll (poem).
