Hurricane Sandy

My thoughts are on the East Coast where so many are living through devastating hurricane Sandy.

It is difficult to feel the pain, here in California, where we are living an exceptionally gorgeous fall season.

But I spent five years in Massachusetts and lived through the historical ice storm of 1998, which cut electricity in my street for four days.

Today, I am grateful for the roof I have above my head, the warmth of the sun on my skin, the electricity that allows me to write on this computer, the hot water for my shower,  the light in my kitchen and the working oven when I will cook dinner tonight.

From the bottom of my heart, I send my warmest wishes of hope and safety to the residents who have lost someone, a home and many belongings, are cold, frightened, and in the dark.
