The Reputation and Honor of a Housekeeping Woman

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the president of the International Monetary Fund, also a prominent French political figure, is charged in connection with a sexual assault on a housekeeping woman in a Manhattan hotel.
The French claim it is a conspiracy against both Mr. Strauss-Kahn and France.
Maybe it is true. Anyway, every man is innocent before being proven guilty.
The French are outraged and condemn the American Puritanism and judicial system. They insist that Mr. Strauss-Kahn is innocent and argue that his reputation is damaged and that France’s honor is tarnished.
I don’t know the man the French call DSK. I don’t know the woman who claims he assaulted her.
There is one think I know.
The French have not a single word for the woman.
I suppose she is guilty before being proven innocent.
I also suppose that a woman who is a hotel housekeeping employee must not have any reputation and honor.
